Born in Purwakarta, West Java, March 1st 1928.
Graduated from ASRI in 1956 and was appointed as a lecturer in the academy.
Once held a position of Culture Inspector in the Ministry of Education and Culture. Until now, he is one of the members of Movie Censored Council.
Exhibition Experience
- Many exhibitions either single or collective in many countries.
- His collectors are spread out across the globe. He never stop painting !

- Lempad Prize from Lempad Foundation, Bali
- Torphy for Dedication in the Art Education issued by ISI, Yogyakarta.
- Cultural Award Scheme by the Australian Government.
- Art Awards by the Indonesian Government.
- Blennale I Award for his best painting by the Jakarta Art Council (DKJ).
